I work at the intersection of climate change and health systems on migration, pastoralism, agriculture, extreme weather events, water and sanitation. My approach draws on long-term visual ethnography in complex, remote and challenging geographies to facilitate research co-creation, participation, voice and agency. I work with diverse stakeholders to create democratic and equitable spaces that encourage plural knowledge frames and bridge the gap between the dominant and implicit knowledge systems. A former journalist, I have extensively worked for more than two decades in climatically fragile zones in South Asia with the Institute of Development Studies at Sussex, Norwegian University of Life Sciences, STEPS Centre, Johns Hopkins led research consortiums and has advised visual research initiatives in Italy, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tunisia, Tibet-China, Bangladesh and India..
